About the Organization
In accordance with the proclamation of the United Nation (UN), International Year of Disabled Persons (IYDP) was observed in 1981 worldwide. The general Assembly also called for a plan of action at international, regional and national levels with emphasizing on equalization of opportunities, rehabilitation and prevention of disabilities. In Nepal too that year different disabled related programs were implemented by the government,forming an International Year of Disabled Persons 1981 National Committee. On the occasion of IYDP, National Disabled Fund was established on 31st December, 1981 by Social Welfare Council (SWC). As a humanitarian organization NDF has been rendering support to persons with Disabilities through implementing meaningful charitable programs focusing on physical rehabilitation, education, vocational trainings and enhancing living condition of People with Disabilities (PWDS) for over more than three decades.

Mission
NDF will provide required support and services for economic independence and social inclusion of PWDS.
Vision
NDF would continue to ensure equality in every sectors of development so that Person with Disabilities will have access to assistive device, education, employment and socialization.
Goal
The goal of NDF is to provide quality rehabilitation service for the betterment of PWDS.
Objective
- To support people with disabilities by providing quality Physiotherapy service, Prosthesis and Orthotics (P&O) Services and assistive device.
- To support on education and skill development training for PWDS.
- To honor deserving and talented disabled persons.
- To implement programmes for the welfare of the disabled people as deemed fit by the NDF Management Committee.
